All children born in Thailand must be registered with the local district office within 60 days of birth. This is a legal requirement and is necessary for the child to obtain a Thai birth certificate and other important documents.

Required documents

To register a child in Thailand, the following documents are required:

  • Original or copy of the child’s birth certificate, if issued by a Thai hospital
  • Original or copy of the parents’ Thai national ID cards
  • Original or copy of the parents’ Thai house registration book

Registration process

To register a child in Thailand, the parents must go to the district office in the area where the child was born. They must complete a child registration form and provide the required documents.

The district office will then issue a Thai birth certificate for the child. The birth certificate will include the child’s name, date of birth, place of birth, and the names of the parents.

Registration for children born outside of Thailand
